on Nov 1st, 2007Happy Half Birthday
Today is a big day, it is my first day of NaBloPoMo. Today is also my photoblog’s six month birthday and I wanted to celebrate that with by looking at some of my favorite blog images before and after editing.
The original file:

The edited image: (This image was the photo of the day on Junes 21, 2007)

I like the edits on this image because it moves to a much more pleasing landscape orientation, removes the unnecessary color in an image without strong colors and refocuses the image on the most interesting point, the weird goat eye.

I like the edits on this image because the cropping, added contrast and cyanotype tint add detail and character to another image that was lacking in vibrancy.

I like the edits on this image not just because it is more vibrant, but it is unrealistically more vibrant. I shot the original image down on from above on a rainy overcast day. The edited version has a painted watercolor quality that reality very seldom has and I love that.

I love this image because it brings all the focus onto the earrings I bought my Fiancee, and the hair creates an wonderful abstract pattern. Obviously the earrings are not the only color in the world, but that is what you get here.

I like the edited version of the image because it creates a punk rock photocopied old school feel that is almost completly absent from the fist version and if Punk Rock is not what photography is all about I would like to know what it is about.
Stay tuned tomorrow for more NaBloPoMo fun when I talk about some of my ideas on abstract photography.

Wow, gorgeous work. I especially love the earring.
Best of luck with NaBloPoMo!
Thanks Rachel.
