on Jan 3rd, 2008Cold Out Today
I woke up early today to take my dad to a doctor’s appointment. He can’t really drive himself yet. I got up a little earlier than I have in a long time. I will need to get used to it though because starting Monday classes are back in session and my earliest class is an hour before the one I had last year. It was cold yesterday, and I was not dressed warm enough. Today I put on my big leather jacket for the first time this season. I wanted to wear my leather gloves to go out and warm my car up but I didn’t remember where I left them. As I was walking out the door I found where I had left my gloves. They were in my coat pockets.
Walking out the door, I saw that the pond in the back yard had frozen looked really cool. I would normally grab my camera, however I had a schedule to keep and I knew it would take a couple of minutes to warm up my car. I was some what worried that it took over 15 minutes to get the car warmed up and the windows clear. Luckily however, I got my dad to the Doctor’s office early thanks to traffic not being as bad as I expected. The good news is that the doc said his infection is gone and that all that is really left is for the surgery to heal up. Apparently though it will be a minimum of two months and more like three months before he can go back to work.
I had the old man out so I swung by the prison. He got to say high to some of his friends and coworkers. They were glad to see him, a few though didn’t recognize him after almost a month of him not shaving. I got to meat his boss and wave high to his wife. They really do like him where he works and said some very nice things about him.
Afterward we swung by the guitar store because he wants to learn to play guitar. Then we had lunch and I dropped him off in Trenton just in time for his afternoon nap.
Tomorrow I am going out with my camera. I haven’t had any really fun shoots in a while.

Wow, I really loved reading this one.
It sounds like BOTH you and your Dad had a fantastic day together.
What a good son you are!
Rock on with the guitar stuff, that is awesome that he wants to take it up
And I’m sure it was fantastic for him to get to visit work.
Have fun on your photo expedition!
Thanks Strumpet. He wants to play the guitar. I consider myself lucky that I can play a CD. I did have fun. I shot ice. It was marvelous.
