on Nov 19th, 2008Talk to me

I don’t have much to say. I am still on the phone. I have been on the phone for three and a half hours.

I will update tomorrow.  Just a second the person on the phone says I have to write this:

Sorry, she changed her mind.

on Nov 18th, 2008Sometimes I feel so dull

Some things that happened to me today.

I noise woke me up at 2am this morning and I had a hard time getting back to sleep.

I slept a little later than yesterday, it was nice, but I needed it.

Hot showers are proof that the devine loves us and wants us to be happy.

Veggie food doesn’t generally make you sleepy after eating it.

Sushi is even better, there is a great Japanese place down the road from work.

I watched the latest episodes of Terminator, Dex and True Blood tonight.

Now I am going to bed and starting this all over again tomorrow.

on Nov 17th, 2008I am many kinds of tired tonight.

For reasons that shall remain my own, I didn’t really get to sleep last night until about 3am. Then it was up at 6:30 to get ready for work. Then it was 10 hours of work and then photo club meeting tonight. It was critique by a guest photographer night. I was worried that my 5 I picked wouldn’t go over very well. I picked five of my more abstract photos. The crowd for the most part is post retirement age. I was suprised. All five of them were very well received. even if I did sit through an hour and half of other critiques first. So I thought I would share with you the five I picked. They have all appeared in the daily photo before, so if you have gone through the entire history there won’t be anything new for you.

on Nov 16th, 2008Find Mr. Brightside

I don’t think it was a big secret that Friday and Yesterday I was feeling a little blue. I was kinda down. I was frustrated about somethings and I was just making myself feel worse minute by minute. So today I did something about it. I slept late. When I did get up I took a shower and put on my cool clothes. I hoped in my car and drove to the big city (Asheville in this case). The trip was great. I had some new tunes on my iPod and I drove and drove. It is a little over an hour and a nice little car ride like that can really help to clear my head. I went to best buy. I miss gadget stores. I need to pick up a new power cable for my laptop and I found it. They also have an Apple kiosk so I played around with the new MB and MBP. They are sweet, but I don’t think the MB is in my future. I am still thinking about a nice Ubuntu based netbook and an iMac. The funny thing is I must look like a Mac expert or something when I am in these stores. People start asking me questions about the Macs and the funny thing is I can answer them.

I think I convinced a guy not to buy a Zune and to buy an iPod instead and I may also have sold a $2000 MacBook Pro for them. I told a guy to buy an 85watt power cord instead of a 60 for his MBP and I got another guy thinking about upgrading his old G4 powerbook.

Then I went next door to Barnes and Noble. It has been ages (for me at least) since I have been in a nice big book store. I found a copy of the Graveyard book. I was so happy, it was there last one. They also had a starbucks inside. I know it isn’t a real starbucks but the Peppermint Frappachino was great.

Then I drove home and went to the Sushi place. I grabbed my new book and sat all by myself with a big smile on my face. I am sure all the women in there would have noticed me if there had been women in there. 8 at night and the place was completly empty.

Then I came home and I was happy once more. I also have a solid idea for another story, but I am still working out some of the little bits. It should be ready tomorrow.

on Nov 15th, 2008Just me rambling

Work is good. I put in a little over 50 hours this week. I would have put in more but I have been kinda blue. Next week I plan to put in more. Come December I imagine there will be many 60 hour weeks.

I picked up a nice 1TB hard drive. I thought it would match my 500GB external HD but the essential editiona and the home addition are visually very different. Same size and shape but one is glossy the other is matte and the lights on the front are different. But I know have a media drive which makes me happy. I was getting frustrated because I was having to juggle files between my 80, 100 and 160 GB drives to have room for stuff. Now I can get some stuff off of my Mac External drives and have a nice safe place for my pics.

I think I might go to Asheville tomorrow just for fun. We will see how that goes. I need to get out take some pictures and cheer myself up.

I have also been thinking about joing a website a friend told me about, OKC, but I haven’t decided yet. Sometimes I think it is more pain than it is worth. Speaking of that, I have been dealing with talking to an old friend this week. I might have to stop that, it makes me feel like a Junkie. It isn’t good for me.

Moving on.

One of the two testers in my group is moving back to support because she was happier there. My manager asked me if I wanted her cubicle. I am thinking about it. It would put me closer to the upper brass, but only by about 20 feet. Although some of the Managers favorites are closer to her office so maybe it is a sign or maybe its just because I was the last to join, I never had a say in what space I took. Speaking of work, I got more forms checked this week than last and it is a little worring that I have done as much in the last two weeks (by the that metric, not by actual work) than I did in the two months before that.

Maybe tomorrow I will have a fun story of some kind for you, I told a story to a friend this week, but that one is never, ever and I mean ever going to get published. She knows what I am talking about though.

Good night and peace out. Enjoy the following video of Open Heart Surgery. It sums things up better than I ever could.
